Sandend Cottage

Sandend Cottage is a unique cottage located on a sandbank above a beautiful sandy beach looking out to the Irish sea. There are steps leading from the garden down to the beach. The Ards peninsula is an area of outstanding natural beauty rich in marine and ornithological life as well as numerous outstanding national trust properties and various outstanding restaurants in the small towns and villages of the area.

The cottage is situated right on the sea shore ideal for long walks, rock pooling and swimming in the summer months! You can walk along the beach to the nearest village Ballywalter approx 1.5 miles. The village has very good basic shopping, spar, butcher, bakery, post office and atm facilities. There is also a small harbour in the village like many of the nearby villages dotted along the coast, including the working fishing port of Portavogie 5 miles away.Convenient to Greyabbey village with its antique, craft and coffee shops 3 miles away. Portaferry’s Exploris Aquarium and Castle Ward National Trust property are approx 11 miles away. Mount Stewart’s world renowned National Trust house and garden is within 3 miles of the cottage. There are five 18 hole golf courses within an 8 mile radius of the cottage. There are also many top restaurants and pubs in the area including Paul Arthur’s restaurant which is in the Bridgestone guide 2005. Northern Ireland’s thriving capital city - Belfast - is within 25 miles of the cottage. This list is by no means exhaustive - there are many other attractions in the locality.

There are three bedrooms - one with a double bed, one with twin beds and one with a single bed. There are sea views from all bedrooms, the living room and kitchen.Bright and airy bath or shower room. Comfortably furnished sitting room with wood burning stove and stunning sea views. Sheltered garden or patio area. The cottage is all on one level.
