Greencastle

The castle was built by Hugh de Lacy .The design of Hugh de Lacy’s castle consisted of a quadrilateral curtain wall with a D-shaped tower at each corner - all now in a very fragmentary state. The castle greencastle has a massive sur rounding rock-cut ditch. Its features is rectangular block. There is a great fair every August called “Ram Fair”

It is located 4 miles SW of Kilkeel. This castle is open from April to September.
